Booty Call
A "booty" class, often referred to as a "booty workout" or "booty-focused class," is dedicated to targeting and strengthening the muscles in the lower body, particularly the glutes (buttocks), hamstrings, and these classes usually involve a series of exercises specifically designed to tone, sculpt, and strengthen the muscles in the buttocks region. The workouts often include a mix of bodyweight exercises, resistance training using bands or weights, and sometimes incorporate elements of dance or pilates.
Here's what you might expect in a booty class:
Glute Activation: Warm-up exercises to activate and engage the glute muscles, such as glute bridges, donkey kicks, or leg raises.
Strength Training: Various exercises like squats (regular, sumo, or goblet squats), lunges (forward, reverse, or side lunges), deadlifts, and leg presses that specifically target the glutes and surrounding muscles.
Isolation Exercises: Moves that isolate and intensely work the glutes, such as hip thrusts, fire hydrants, clamshells, and cable kickbacks.
Accessory Work: Incorporation of resistance bands, ankle weights, or other equipment to add resistance and intensify the exercises.
Cool Down: Stretching and cooldown exercises to relax and elongate the muscles worked during the session, preventing soreness and promoting flexibility.
